At Chimein Recovery Services we take a longer-term view of the recovery journey, achieving sustained results, through recovery coaching, counselling and support services. Helping our participants to reach their goals, by providing them with tools, insights, and support.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching
Psychosocial Recovery coaching guides participants towards navigating life independently.
Our recovery coaches provide support for NDIS participants with a psychosocial disability who need support navigating complex life challenges. We develop and implement a recovery plan in collaboration with the participant, family, carers and other services.
Our recovery coaches use the CHIME approach, one-on-one coaching and individually tailored recovery plans, to provide the insights and tools our participants need to actively take part in and manage their life choices in a positive way.
We support participants with psychosocial disorders, including schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and severe and persistent anxiety and depression. We consider recovery to be when participants are able to live active, productive lives, with or without experiencing ongoing symptoms.
Support Coordination
Our team provide valuable support coordination services.
This service helps participants to understand and utilise their NDIS supports most effectively. Working with our team, helps alleviate this burden, allowing participants to better focus on their recovery journey.
Our team also understand that recovery often involves a network of people. We are also able to help people close to our participants to understand the support available and the overall processes.
We guide clients to build their own skills and capacity, allowing them to exercise choice and control, as we work together to:
- Understand your NDIS plan and implement the funded services
- Connect with appropriate services
- Prepare for your NDIS plan review
- Check you are getting the most value from your NDIS plan
- Support you through challenges and crises to develop strategies to move forward.
A NDIS Support Coordinator will connect and negotiate with service providers on your behalf, as well as coordinate service agreements with your chosen service providers.
Specialist Support Coordination
Chimein Recovery Services provide Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination (SSC) service to NDIS participants with complex mental health needs who are exiting or frequently encounter the justice system. Our team specialises in working with NDIS participants who have one or more diagnosed mental health concerns occurring at the same time, along with problematic drug and alcohol use.
We understand that a dual diagnosis condition can be challenging to manage, and that is why we are here to provide the necessary support and coordination to help participants achieve their goals.
At Chimein Recovery Services, we recognise the importance of collaboration and communication among service providers. We work closely with the participant’s service providers, including mental health services, drug and alcohol services, and the justice department to ensure that participants receive comprehensive support.
Dual Diagnosis
We understand that the path to recovery can be challenging, especially when dealing with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues. That’s why our team of experienced Recovery Coaches is here to provide you with the support and guidance you need to navigate the recovery process successfully.
Dual diagnosis refers to the presence of both a mental health disorder and a substance abuse disorder. These conditions often go hand in hand, and it’s crucial to address both simultaneously to achieve lasting recovery. At Chimein, we recognise the complexity of dual diagnoses and take a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach to treatment.
Our Recovery Coaches are trained professionals who specialise in assisting individuals with dual diagnoses. They work closely with clients to develop personalised recovery plans that address their unique needs and circumstances. By taking a holistic approach, our coaches consider the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to addiction and mental health disorders.
Justice System
Chimein Recovery Services specialises in working with NDIS participants who have involvement in the criminal justice system. This includes participants with a dual diagnosis who are required to enter Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) programs, including residential recovery and sober living housing.
Chimein works with participants who are applying for parole, on bail, have a community corrections order, and those engaged in the Intellectual Disability Diversion Program (IDDP) or Mental Health Court Diversion and Support Program (Start Court).
