Prison Support Services

At Chimein Recovery Services we take a longer-term view on the recovery process.

We achieve sustained results, providing counselling and support services. Helping our participants to reach their goals, by providing them with tools, insights, and support.

Our team believe the key to successfully recovering from addiction it to understand and resolve the underlying root cause/s of addictive behaviour. Often our participants benefit from working with our counsellors with lived experience, who have a personal understanding of addiction, treatment and recovery. We also work with participants to addresses specific issues and challenges for prisoners facing release and how that transition could impact the recovery process.

We work with our participants to:

Mental Health Support

Our team provide vital mental health support to individuals and their support networks as they navigate criminal proceedings or the correctional process. We work with our participants and those close to them, helping to reduce the mental load and stress during this time.

Our team provide guidance to better manage the uncertainty and challenges people naturally experience when encountering the criminal justice system. Individual plans are tailored to each participants needs, based on the nature and circumstances surrounding the offence and incarceration period.

Pre-release Drug and Alcohol Counselling

Our team provide pre-release drug and alcohol counselling services, which are recognised as an important step in the transition from a prison or incarceration environment back into society.

Undertaking pre-release counselling can also be considered during parole proceedings, with a letter acknowledging counselling has been provided and outlining the relevant post-release counselling plan.

Pre-release Case Management (parole planning)

In addition to pre-release counselling services, our team provide case management (parole planning) assistance. Pre-release case management provides a comprehensive review and plan for the transition from prison or incarceration via the parole process.

This process is supported by our pre-release counselling services and is designed to outline a clear process and support system to support our participants to regain autonomy of their life and environment, in accordance with any parole requirements.
